Create a Bay
Go to Bay Management and create at least one bay.
Run the Installer
On your simulator PC, run BookATeeKiosk-Setup.exe as Administrator.
Register the Device
During first launch, enter your subdomain (demo) and generate a registration key from Bay Management.

⚠️ Emergency Access / Manual Override

If you get locked out or need to bypass the kiosk, use these methods:

1. Ctrl+Alt+Delete (Always Works)

Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to access the Windows security screen. From there you can:

Open Task Manager → End "BookATee.Kiosk.exe"
Click Sign out or Switch user
Access another admin account

Note: This keyboard combo cannot be blocked by any application - it's handled by Windows itself.

2. Staff Override Code

Set an override code above. On the kiosk lock screen, click "Staff Access" and enter the code to unlock the session temporarily.

3. Remote Unlock

From this admin panel, go to the kiosk device and click "Remote Unlock" to release the lock.

4. Safe Mode

Restart the PC and boot into Safe Mode (hold Shift while clicking Restart). The kiosk app won't auto-start in Safe Mode.

5. Delete Config File

If you can access the file system, delete:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\BookATee.Kiosk\device-config.json

The kiosk will enter registration mode instead of locking.

🔐 Security Features

The kiosk app includes these security measures (configurable in appsettings.json):

🛡️ Maximum Security Setup (Optional)

For facilities requiring bulletproof lockdown, consider these Windows features:

Windows Assigned Access (Kiosk Mode)

Windows 10/11 Pro includes built-in kiosk mode that:

Replaces the Windows shell entirely
Limits Ctrl+Alt+Del options
Prevents access to desktop

Setup: Settings → Accounts → Family & other users → Set up a kiosk

Assign the BookATee.Kiosk.exe as the single allowed app.

Shell Launcher (Multi-App Kiosk)

For Windows 10/11 Enterprise, Shell Launcher allows:

Group Policy Settings

Run gpedit.msc and configure:

User Configuration → Administrative Templates → System → Ctrl+Alt+Del Options
- Remove Task Manager: Enabled
- Remove Change Password: Enabled
- Remove Lock Computer: Enabled
User Configuration → Administrative Templates → Desktop
- Hide and disable all items on the desktop: Enabled

⚠️ Always maintain an admin account without these restrictions!

BIOS/UEFI Password

Set a BIOS password to prevent:

Booting from USB drives
Entering Safe Mode via boot options
Changing boot order

🧪 Testing Recommendations

1️⃣

Create a Test Admin Account

Before testing, create a separate Windows admin account you can access via Ctrl+Alt+Del → Switch User.

2️⃣

Test with Security Disabled First

Edit appsettings.json and set all Security options to false for initial testing.

3️⃣

Use Remote Desktop

Test via RDP first - you can always disconnect and maintain physical access as backup.

4️⃣

Memorize: Ctrl+Alt+Delete

This is your guaranteed escape route. It cannot be blocked by any Windows application.

💡 How Tiered Pricing Works

Rule Priority: Higher priority rules are evaluated first. The first matching rule is used.

Rule Matching: Rules can be filtered by bay, bay group, day of week, time range, and date range.

Pricing Components:

First Hour Rate: The rate for the first hour of booking
Additional Hour Rate: The rate for each hour after the first (defaults to first hour rate if not set)
Base Players: Number of players included in the base rate (typically 1-4)
Extra Player Rate: Additional charge per player over the base, per hour

Example: 6 players for 2 hours with $30 first hour, $25 additional hours, 4 base players, $10/extra player:

Hour 1: $30 (base) + $20 (2 extra players × $10) = $50
Hour 2: $25 (base) + $20 (2 extra players × $10) = $45
Total: $95

Site Configuration

General Settings

Course Address:

The full street address of your golf course. This will be shown on booking confirmations with a map and directions link.

Return URL:

The URL to redirect customers to after completing a booking. Typically your golf course's main website or a "Thank You" page.

Notification Email:

Email address that receives booking notifications and updates when customers make tee time reservations.

Cart Option:

Disabled: No cart option available Per Person: Checkbox for each person on reservation Whole Card: Everyone on reservation is charged for a cart

Holes Option:

Controls whether users can book 9 holes, 18 holes, or choose between both options.

Payment Requirement:

Payment Required: All bookings must include payment Payment Optional: Customers can choose to pay now or later Payment Disabled: No payment collected during booking

Time Zone:

The selected timezone will be used to filter out past tee times and display local times to users.

Auto Approve Bookings

When enabled, new bookings will automatically be set to "Approved" status. When disabled, bookings start as "Requested" and require manual approval.

Auto Check-In Bookings

When enabled, approved bookings will automatically change to "Checked In" status when their tee time starts.

Auto Complete After (Hours):

Number of hours after a booking is checked in to automatically change status to "Completed". Set to 0 to disable auto-completion.

Membership Settings

Allow Online Membership Sign-up

When enabled, customers can sign up for membership tiers directly on your booking page. When disabled, only admins can add members.

📊 About Handicap Calculations

The USGA Handicap System uses Slope Rating and Course Rating to calculate accurate handicaps:

Course Rating: Expected score for a scratch golfer (typically 68-76)
Slope Rating: Difficulty relative to a bogey golfer (55-155, standard is 113)
Score Differential: (113 / Slope) × (Score - Rating)
Handicap Index: Average of best 8 of last 20 differentials

Course Occupancy Settings

Configure pace of play settings to enable the Course Occupancy simulation. This feature visualizes where groups are on the course at any given time and highlights potential congestion points.

Course Layout:

Select whether your course is a 9-hole or 18-hole layout. For 9-hole courses, 18-hole bookings will loop back and may cause congestion with later tee times.

Average Time Per Hole by Par (minutes)

Set pace of play times based on hole type. These times are for a single player and will be multiplied by group size factors.
If your Course Map has hole pars configured, these will be used for accurate per-hole calculations.
